Japanese American Online Forum
We also offer an online forum for youth and the young at heart.
“Japanese American Youth Forum,” an online medium where you can say whatever’s on your mind -- whether it be about JA issues or not. We hope this forum will promote an exchange of ideas, encourage feedback, and broadcast events.
You’re welcome to discuss any topic, but please be courteous to fellow posters. You’re also welcome to invite your friends to join.
How to get started:
1. Go to: www.runboard.com
2. Go to and click: “Open Account”
3. Fill in the fields, e.g., login/screennamea. Once you create an account, you’ll be directed to another page that says, “Congratulations! Your account is now created. Before you can log in your account, you need to activate it. An email message has been sent to the primary email address you just entered (youremail@address.com).”
b. Check your email and activate your account by clicking on the link provided
c. When you click on the link, you’ll be directed to a new page. You’ll get a temporary password that you can change later. It’s not necessary to “upgrade account to premium,” so just scroll all the way down and click “Continue as free account” located at the lower left-hand corner
d. At the control panel, change your password. Just in case, click the box next to “Send the new password to my primary email address.” Then, click “Submit info”4. Go to: http://com1.runboard.com/bjapaneseamericanyouthforum
5. Go to and click: “Welcome!”
6. Click: “Post a topic.” You’ll be directed to a new page where you can type a comment. If you’d like, type a little something about yourself so others know who you are (e.g., name, age, etc.)
7. Go back to the main page, look around and feel free to read comments, respond to them, or post your own
When you post a comment, you’ll automatically be added to the members’ list.
Note: We have five areas where you can post a comment: Japanese American Issues, Current Events, “Off Topic,” Local Events/Activities, and JACL Opportunities. If you’d like to see other areas, please let us know.

Help Support Berkeley Youth With eScrip
eScrip is a hassle-free way for Berkeley JACL to raise funds through everyday purchases made at eScrip merchants. All money earned goes to our chapter’s youth!
How does it work? eScrip and over 150 merchant partners have created a system that rewards customer loyalty by contributing a percentage of purchases to your chosen group. You shop the way you like to shop for groceries, clothing, travel and entertainment. It’s simple and convenient, all you need to do is register your debit and/or credit card(s).
Please note: Berkeley JACL does not receive money from Safeway purchases.
We can potentially receive hundreds of dollars from your participation alone! Please see attached flyer for more details. For more information, please contact berkeley@jacl.org.
